PUBLIC INPUT AT NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL MEETINGS – The public is requested to dial *9, when prompted by the presiding officer, to address the Board on any agenda item before the Board takes an action on an item. Comments from the public on agenda items will be heard only when the respective item is being considered. Comments from the public on other matters not appearing on the agenda that are within the Board’s jurisdiction will be heard during the General Public Comment period. Please note that under the Brown Act, the Board is prevented from acting on a matter that you bring to its attention during the General Public Comment period; however, the issue raised by a member of the public may become the subject of a future Board meeting. Public comment is limited to 1 minute per speaker, unless adjusted by the presiding officer of the Board.
AB 361 Updates: Public comment cannot be required to be submitted in advance of the meeting, only real-time public comment is required. If there are any broadcasting interruptions that prevent the public from observing or hearing the meeting, the meeting must be recessed or adjourned. If members of the public are unable to provide public comment or be heard due to issues within the Neighborhood Council’s control, the meeting must be recessed or adjourned.

    1. Motion to receive, file and approve the NCWP Monthly Expenditure Report (MER) for the month of April 2022.
    2. Motion to approve the appointment of Cord Thomas as primary representative to the Los Angeles Neighborhood Council Coalition (LANCC) through June 30, 2023.
    3. Motion to request the reallocation of $8,000 from General and Operational Expenditures to NPG budgets.
    4. Motion to Approve the neighborhood purposes grant (NPG) application from Nuestros Alimentos (also known as Nourish LA) in the amount of $1,000 to be used towards monthly refrigerated storage costs.
    5. Motion to Approve the neighborhood purposes grant (NPG) application from Airport Marina Counseling Services in the amount of $2000.00 to for personnel related expenses for therapists, clinical supervisors, child psychiatrist, and executive staff.
    6. Motion to Approve the neighborhood purposes grant (NPG) application from Pacific Boosters in the amount of $2,000.00 to be used for costs associated with national night out and purchasing fitness equipment for the Pacific Station.  NCWP will be given a one six foot table; two chairs at the event. Recognition on LAPD Booster and Playa Vista’s social media and website and signage recognition at the event.
    7. Motion to Approve the neighborhood purposes grant (NPG) application from Emerson Garden in the amount of $1,500.00 is for 45 kids (likely split over 3 classes) and covers the following for each participant; grow bag, organic soil, watering cup, plants, fertilizer, printed out care instructions, total per child $35, program cost is $1575 and the difference will be provided by EACGC and/or private donation.
    8. Motion to approve disbursement of $1,500 for outreach event Westchester Arts & Music (WAM) Block Party on September 24, 2022, to include Vendor booth space 8’ by 8’ Signage on Garden Fence (along Emerson Ave.) Logo on Website, Social Media, Name on Postcard Mailer to 5,000 Westchester Homes, Live Announcement Recognition.
    9. Motion to approve a letter asking that the City restore Neighborhood Council annual budgets to a minimum of $50,000, COUNCIL FILE 22-0600 – DEPARTMENT OF NEIGHBORHOOD EMPOWERMENT FISCAL YEAR 2022-2023 BUDGET REQUEST.  This is necessary as Neighborhood Councils pay individually for technology licenses to meet virtually, meeting spaces when we return to in-person meetings, and outreach for upcoming election activities.
