Comments from the public on other matters not appearing on the agenda that are within the Board’s jurisdiction will be heard during the General Public Comment period. Please note that under the Brown Act, the Board is prevented from acting on a matter that you bring to its attention during the General Public Comment period; however, the issue raised by a member of the public may become the subject of a future Board meeting. Public comment is limited to 1 minute per speaker, unless adjusted by the presiding officer of the Board.

  4. Consent Calendar: (The following items will be treated as one item and enacted with one vote unless a Board member or a stakeholder requests that an item be placed on the Discussion Calendar.)
    1. Approval of Minutes of December 2023 Board meeting
    2. Approval of Edited Minutes of November 2023 Board meeting to include the following: Item 10. Committee Reports, 4. President Gerez addressed the email and letter sent on Nov 6, 2023, 12:24 PM to the NCWP Board by Robert Acherman regarding Lulu’s Place.  The letter gave the appearance that it was written by President Gerez and asking the Board to approve the letter.  This email communicationwas 100% composed and submitted by Robert Acherman, Vice President, Alliance for a Regional Solution to Airport Congestion without notification, consultation or any communication with President Gerez.
    3. Motion to approve and file Treasurer’s report and MER for month of November 2023.
    4. Motion to approve 3% increase to Moore Business Results effective February 2024, with expenditure not to exceed $650 monthly.
    5. Motion to approve increase in Mailchimp monthly fee for FY  2023 2024 not to exceed $60 monthly.
    6. Motion to approve a Sponsorship for LAX Coastal Education Foundation Rock and Roll Run for Education on March 2 from 7:30am to 11am at LMU. Backstage sponsor not to exceed $1,000.00.
    7. Motion to appoint Casey Yeazel to the Education Director Seat and on to the Outreach Committee.  Casey Yeazel is the President of St. Bernard High School.
    8. Motion to support CF 23-0914 by submitting the following CIF.  The proliferation of long-term RV parking on city streets affects our community’s quality of life. Lack of support services, such as sewage treatment and trash collection, exacerbates problems for all. NCWP supports CF 23-0914 to designate streets for oversized vehicles to enable better management of oversized vehicle parking for all stakeholders. This will provide parking areas outside residential neighborhoods and offer support services for those living in oversized vehicles. NCWP urges LA City Council to swiftly implement designated oversized vehicle parking throughout the city and to enact strict fines and enforcement in a timely manner for violations

  6. Announcements from Board Members and Committee Reports
    1. President Gerez is looking to fill the NCWP four vacant Board Seats (Community Organizations, Residential 4, and Business 90094).  If you know someone who is interested please ask them to reach out to me at paula.ncwpdr@gmail.com.
    2. President Gerez is looking to create an event calendar for 2024.  If you know of a community event coming up in 2024 please send Event information to paula.ncwpdr@gmail.com.
    3. President Gerez is looking for NCWP Board volunteers to work the NCWP Outreach Booth for the LAX Coastal Education Foundation Rock Roll & Run for Education on the picturesque campus of Loyola Marymount University on March 2, 2024! The event will feature a 5K and 1K, as well as an after race expo featuring family-friendly activities, giveaways and a pancake breakfast. The festivities will also include live music and a DJ to kick-off the fun at 8 a.m.  NCWP Board members will work in pairs to set up, host and tear down.  Ideally, 6 volunteers are needed.

  8. Discussion Calendar and related Public comment
    1. Board to discuss the current conditions of the Municipal Lot with Juan Fregoso, District Director who will provide another update.  Possible letter to Councilwoman Park asking for help to secure the Municpal Lot.
  9. Public Comment – non-agenda items (limited to 1 minute per speaker unless otherwise declared by the President or presiding director.  Public comment on agendized items will be called as each agenda item is brought forward.)
