Pershing Drive Recycled Water Pipeline Project
Project Description
The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) will install a new pipe along Pershing Drive, between Imperial Highway and World Way West. This pipe will transport high-quality recycled water from Hyperion Water Treatment Facility to Los Angeles International Airport. The pipe will be 3,900 foot long pipe and 12 inches in diameter.
Construction Information
Construction will begin in November 2020 and is scheduled to be completed by March 2021. In order to minimize traffic impact, construction will be in two phases. Phase 1 will be at night from 9:00PM to 6:00AM Monday through Friday. Phase 2 will be during the day from 8:00AM to 4:00PM. There may be occasional work on Saturday.
During construction, the northbound lanes on Pershing Drive will be reduced and motorists will be routed onto the shoulder and bike lane. The northbound bike lane will be closed during construction. The southbound bike lane will remain open throughout construction. Excavated areas will be securely covered by steel plates during non-construction times.
Airport Police Recycled Water Pipeline Project
Project Description
The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) will install a new pipe along 91st Street, between Stanmoor Drive and Loyola Boulevard, and along Loyola Boulevard from 91st Street to approximate 300’ south of La Tijera Boulevard. LADWP will install 3,400 linear feet of 6-inch diameter pipe that will transport high-quality recycled water from Hyperion Water Treatment Facility to Los Angeles International Airport Police facility.
Construction Information
Construction will begin in December 2020 and is scheduled to be completed by May 2021. Typical work hours will be from 8:00AM to 4:00PM. There may be occasional work on Saturday. Construction will require a full road closure of 91st Street during Phase 1 and 2. Access to driveways will be impacted as construction progresses. Crews will notify and coordinate with residents to assist with access through the construction zone. Please allow extra time to navigate through construction. Local access will be allowed only to residents located directly in front of construction activities. Excavated areas will be securely covered by steel plates during non-construction times.
