The week of March 23, 2026, we started construction on our new Jefferson Boulevard bike lane! After we removed the RV encampment in 2023, CD11 then teamed up with Friends of Ballona Wetlands to clean up the marsh, remove the contaminated topsoil, plant 1,000 new native plants, and restore the Jefferson Trail. Today, the marsh has recovered, the wildlife is thriving, and the trail is fully reopened to the public. The new K-rail-protected bike lane will connect Playa del Rey and Playa Vista for the first time, and we are excited to roll out the new wetlands mural!
