PUBLIC INPUT AT NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL MEETINGS – The public is requested to dial *9, when prompted by the presiding officer, to address the Board on any agenda item before the Board takes an action on an item. Comments from the public on agenda items will be heard only when the respective item is being considered. Comments from the public on other matters not appearing on the agenda that are within the Board’s jurisdiction will be heard during the General Public Comment period. Please note that under the Brown Act, the Board is prevented from acting on a matter that you bring to its attention during the General Public Comment period; however, the issue raised by a member of the public may become the subject of a future Board meeting. Public comment is limited to 1 minute per speaker, unless adjusted by the presiding officer of the Board.
AB 361 Updates: Public comment cannot be required to be submitted in advance of the meeting, only real-time public comment is required. If there are any broadcasting interruptions that prevent the public from observing or hearing the meeting, the meeting must be recessed or adjourned. If members of the public are unable to provide public comment or be heard due to issues within the Neighborhood Council’s control, the meeting must be recessed or adjourned.

1.

Approval of minutes of January 23, 2023 meeting.

2.

Reports, announcements from City, County, Government officials.

3.

Westchester Town Center Business Improvement District President, Donald Duckworth will speak to the Committee about the BID’S vision and future planned use for their district.

Donald will discuss what is in store for the Staples parcel, potential mixed use on Sepulveda, potential reorientation of commercial frontage onto Sepulveda, and more.

 

4.

Report by Kimberly Fox on her meeting with Jeffrey Khau, Senior Planner for Councilwoman Traci park.

Kimberly will also discuss the City’s vision from today to 2040 (how long the CPU we’re doing now is likely to be in place) and what they see going into place when using that timeline.

5.

Video Explainers: As part of the FAQ data the Committee will be making available to the public via the Neighborhood Council website,  Committee members are creating short videos to explain the CPU process. Tonight we will look into:

  • Creating a template, so all the video explainers look similar.
  • Create a list of topics (starting with extracting things from our FAQs).
  • Committee wide participation in this process.

LAX Traffic Data (executive summary of Cory’s presentation; very bulleted, max of 2 pages).

Traffic Analysis Methodology Tutorial: “Grades” vs Vehicle Miles (Kimberly).

Executive summary of total impacts from Playa Vista (# of housing units/residents, commercial sq footage, traffic, etc — what we’ve absorbed!) (Kimberly).

Current Density Development Projects (map, # of units + parking, etc) (Kimberly).
