  2. Neighborhood Council of Westchester/Playa (NCWP) – STAR of the Neighborhood nominations are open; forms available in The HomeTown News or www.ncwpdr.org
  3. NCWP NPG Small Grants for Public Schools in Westchester/Playa – Up to 3 grants awarded for $500 each; must demonstrate creativity and a local public benefit and be completed before the end of summer 2019. Applications are eligible from LAUSD public schools located in Westchester/Playa del Rey/Playa Vista. See attached brief application due April 27, 2019.
  4. SoCalGas Small STEM Grants for Public Schools in Westchester/Playa – the specific maximum has not been set, but estimate around $1,250 to $2,500 for science, technology, engineering, and/or math related projects that are creative and innovative, especially those that are relevant to energy. Applications are eligible from LAUSD public schools located in Westchester/Playa del Rey/Playa Vista. Projects must be completed by October 31, 2019 WITH documentation suitable for being publicly shared by SoCalGas (e.g., photos, video, one-page summary).   5. 2019 SoCalGas College Scholarships – One scholarship for a student going to a 4-year college for $5,000 or five-$1,000 scholarships for five students attending junior or community colleges. Application is attached. Contact Mike Harriel with questions. Application available as attachment.
  6. SoCalGas Environmental Champions Initiative Grant for unique, creative applications for clean air, energy, water, or waste diversion. The awards will be between $10K-$25K, and schools should partner with organizations to be more competitive. Waste diversion is a priority. Do not bother to submit applications that focus on planting trees or community clean-ups. The grant announcement will be released in May 2019 on the SoCalGas website; contact Sarita Figueroa with questions.
