Digester Sludge Leaks
Leaks Stopped, Cleanup In Progress
Between Monday, April 15 and Tuesday, April 16, 2024, Digester Battery E at Hyperion Water Reclamation Plant experienced leaks. The leaks have been stopped, and staff are actively engaged in the cleanup and drainage process to enable a thorough investigation of their cause. We will proceed with any necessary repairs.
Our fenceline monitoring system continues to demonstrate compliance with H2S levels. That said, we plan to assess the aforementioned leaks to determine whether they might be a cause for odors.
