Our adjacent Venice Neighborhood Council is holding a meeting tonight, September 19, 6:30pm at 1010 Abbot Kinney Blvd in which they will discuss the formation of a citizen task force on LAX parcels as a solution to removing the current encampments here in Venice. From Yovenice:
The prime backer of this initiative is Community Officer Clark Brown who has made it known publicly for months that the best remedy to solving the Venice homeless question is creating space at LAX which would remove such encampments and RV parking from the residential streets of this neighborhood plagued by this human scourge, and the worst of any neighborhood in LA with the exception of Skid Row.
All residents are encouraged to attend Tuesday’s monthly meeting. Want to contact a VNC board member? E-mail them at board@venicenc.org.
Please see the meeting agenda, item 13: MOTION: CITIZEN TASK FORCE ON LAX PARCELS – STAKEHOLDER PETITION.
If you are concerned about Venice homeless moving to LAX parcels, please attend the meeting and share your opinion.
According to the Argonautnews, the three parcels in question include: the first is at the corner of La Tijera and Westchester Parkway (Parcel 1). The second is at the corner of La Tijera and Century (Parcel 2), and the third is at the corner of 111th Street and Aviation (Parcel 3).
