Notice from LA Sanitation:
We launched our Hyperion Reimbursement Program on July 22, 2021 to offer relief to residents of El Segundo after the July incident. On August 18, 2021, residents of Playa del Rey and Westchester were added to the program. We offered affected residents two options: reimbursement for air conditioning units (to also include fans, air purifiers, filters, installation, etc.) and relocation to local hotels.
Hyperion has completed most of its process recovery efforts, which shows clearly in the recent water and air quality data. With no water quality violations in the past four weeks. As such, we will officially close the program on Thursday, September 23, 2021.
Closing the reimbursement program means that any AC or related units must be purchased before 11:59pm on September 23 and that anyone who has relocated to a hotel will not be reimbursed for stays on or after September 24. Residents who participated in the reimbursement program will have until October 8, 2021 to submit their receipts through our secure online platform.
Closing the program does not mean that we are ending our relationship with those residents who have experienced impacts over the past several weeks. On the contrary, we plan to continue close communication with our stakeholders, sharing investigation results, communications plans, reimbursement updates and ongoing Hyperion activities.
