PUBLIC INPUT AT NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL MEETINGS – Comments from the public on agenda items will be heard only when the respective item is being considered. Comments from the public on other matters not appearing on the agenda that are within the Board’s jurisdiction will be heard during the General Public Comment period. Please note that under the Brown Act, the Board is prevented from acting on a matter that you bring to its attention during the General Public Comment period; however, the issue raised by a member of the public may become the subject of a future Board meeting. Public comment is limited to 1 minute per speaker, unless adjusted by the presiding officer of the Board.

Committee member Cory Birkett is working with the Planning Department to explore the possibility/options.

Legislative update from  Committee member Tracy Thrower Conyers.

Tracy will inform us of the latest and pending legislation, some of which is currently with the Governor waiting to be signed into law. Attached is the new timeline for the CPU.

LAWA and the CPU.

What impacts will the proposals from City Planning have on LAWA and the Community? At the Board of Airport Commissioners meeting on September 19, 2024 LAWA seemed unaware that we are in the process of updating the Community Plan and what Upzoning is being proposed.

Discussion of issuing a Community Impact Statement regarding new local development and it’s cumulative impacts as it relates to the Community and LAWA.

Draft 3 of the Housing Element was released on September 19th. This draft protects: Single Family Zoning, HPOZ/Historic Zones, RSO, Coastal Zone, High Fire areas. In order for these elements to be included in our Community Plan Update the City Council must first pass the Housing Element.
