Introductions

Discussion/Action (Motion):

1.

Approval of minutes from March 28, 2024 meeting.

2.

Reports, announcements from City, County and Government officials.

3.

At the March 28, 2024 meeting we met our new CD11 Airport liaison, Trey Grogan.

At this meeting we will continue that discussion (details in attached minutes) and anticipate updates/responses/reports from Trey Grogan and Nicole Carcel.

The issues discussed will include and not be limited to those listed below.

What airport projects/issues is Trey working on and what can he tell us about them?

Update on Lulu’s Place.

Ground traffic: Recently the Los Angeles Times stated that everyday the airport traffic is just as congested as holiday traffic.

Confusing signage leading into and out of the airport. The cut thru at Terminal 6 stated there is no access to Terminal 6.  Clearer signage including detour signage is needed.

Coordination with other public works departments to avoid severe traffic congestion as was recently experienced on Sepulveda Blvd.

Continuing complaints from neighbors regarding airport employees and airport related businesses parking on residential streets. Transport providers are using residential streets as their parking lots.

What is the status of the electric helicopters? There are reports that they will be functioning in time for the upcoming Olympics.

What plans are being put in place for the Olympics? What is the traffic plan?

When can the Neighborhood Council have an airport tour? Nicole Carcel has mentioned that she would be able to coordinate this.

What is the airport doing to encourage delayed travelers to avail themselves of Westchester/Playa del Rey local amenities?
