The Homeless Vehicular Living Committee met on August 7. 2012 at 4 PM in the Westchester Library attended by members: Frances Stronks, J D Webster, Clarence Griffin, Andy Kamm,Booker Pearson.

 

Nate Kaplan of CD-11 staff and members of PATH also were present along with several members of the public.

 

A motion by J D Webster seconded by Frances Stronks to recommend that the NCWP approve a grant of $2500 for this current FY to continue outreach in the NCWP distrct was unanamously passed.

A motion by Andy Kamm seconded by Clarence Griffin to recommend that the NCWP “opt in” to the 2013 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count was unanamously passed.

A motion by Clarence Griffin seconded by Frances Stronks to recommend opposition to the proposed LA City Community Care ordinance unless and until the City could guarantee there would be no loss of federal housing funds, no evictions of veterans in Mar Vista and Del rey and no evictions of the six formerly homeless from Westchester Park who lived in shared housing was passed unanamously.

 

PATH gave a report on their recent outreach activites and were commended by the public and all committee members.
