The Hyperion Water Reclamation Plant is planning to perform scheduled maintenance activities at its Hyperion BioEnergy Facility (HBEF) from November 2, 2022, to approximately December 17, 2022. The steam turbine generator (STG) is scheduled to be reconditioned. The purpose of the STG outage is to ensure the reliability of the HBEF and is scheduled for every five years.
During this scheduled outage, there will be additional venting of steam through the roof. The steam plume will be visible, but it is only water vapor. During normal operations, the STG consumes additional steam to produce electricity and low-pressure steam.
