DESCRIPTION:The City of Los Angeles Sanitation and Environment is working with the local stakeholders\, including the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA)\, City of El Segundo\, City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation\, local residents and community-based organizations to develop a project to beautify the Imperial Highway median from California Street to Vista del Mar\, expand recreational opportunities\, and capture\, reuse\, and recycle stormwater runoff from the adjacent neighborhoods. \nMeasure W Imperial Highway Project: The project application was submitted to LA County in late July 2022. It is now at LA County’s Safe Clean Water Program’s (SCWP) Scoring Committee for evaluation and calculation of the total number of points the project will receive. \nThis final verification of points for the project will take place during the next SCWP Scoring Committee meeting on Thursday\, November 3\, 2022. The project will then be sent to the Central Santa Monica Bay Watershed Area Steering Committee (or CSMB WASC) for final evaluation and\, ultimately\, the decision of whether the project will receive funding – this will take place early 2023. \nHow to Weigh In: \n1. Attend and voice your support for this project during the online Scoring Committee Meeting: \nComplete an online comment card for the meeting. To ensure that your comment is counted\, please include the following subject line: “Public Comment: Scoring Committee\, 11/3/2022”.\nEmail the completed comment card to safecleanwaterLA@pw.lacounty.gov by at least 5:00 p.m. the day prior to the meeting.\nLogin and attend the SCWP’s Scoring Committee meeting on November 3\, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. The meeting’s agenda may be found here.\nDuring one of the meeting’s “Public Comment” sections virtually raise your hand to voice your support for the project. \n2. DESCRIPTION:LA City Planning and LA Department of Transportation are pleased to announce the release of revised drafts for the proposed Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Program update for public review and comment. A virtual Open House & Public Hearing is scheduled for Tuesday\, August 2\, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. \nThe proposed TDM Program update aims to reduce the need for drive-alone vehicle trips by increasing transportation options and accessibility throughout the City\, providing benefits to the environment and public health. It would require new development projects over a certain size to implement strategies such as supporting transit\, telecommuting\, walking\, carshare\, and other sustainable travel options that reduce vehicle trips. \nThe revised drafts of the TDM Ordinance and TDM Program Guidelines incorporate feedback gathered over the last several years\, including through public workshops and office hours held in 2021. Among changes to the revised ordinance are adjusted project size thresholds and modified monitoring and enforcement procedures. \nPlease visit City Planning’s mobility website planning4la.org/mobility to view the revised draft TDM Ordinance\, draft TDM Program Guidelines\, a new fact sheet\, informational videos\, and to sign up for updates. \nA public hearing is a means to collect comments from stakeholders before the proposed TDM Program update is presented to the City Planning Commission for recommendation\, and ultimately the City Council for adoption. A presentation will be followed by an opportunity to provide oral comments. The virtual Open House and Public Hearing is open to everyone who would like to participate. DESCRIPTION:The chamber is excited to present this event on Monday\, July 4th at 11 AM down Loyola Blvd. from Westchester Park to LMU. Our 2022 parade theme is “Yours for a Better Community: Celebrating the Best of America\,” in honor of Howard Drollinger’s 100th birthday. Howard was an entrepreneur and philanthropist\, who would sign all of his letters with “Yours for a Better Westchester.” He was also one of the chamber’s founders\, as well as a past chairman. His legacy continues in the LAX Coastal area through his daughter\, Karen Dial\, who is President of Drollinger Properties and the Drollinger Charitable Foundation. Karen will serve as this year’s Grand Marshal.
