DESCRIPTION:Los Angeles City Planning will conduct a Virtual Public Hearing for a proposed amendment to the Site Plan Review Ordinance on March 14\, 2023 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. All interested parties are encouraged to attend and share feedback. \nLos Angeles City Planning has prepared this zoning code amendment in response to a City Council Motion (Council File No. 22-0268)\, and in furtherance of the goals of Mayor Bass’ Executive Directive (ED) 1\, which aims to streamline reviews for affordable housing. Site Plan Review is a planning entitlement that requires discretionary approval for certain types of developments pursuant to LAMC Section 16.05. The proposed amendment would exempt deed restricted affordable housing units from Site Plan Review threshold calculations. This exemption would help to expedite the permitting of new affordable housing projects to address the ongoing housing crisis. \nThe draft Ordinance\, fact sheet\, hearing notice\, and more information can be found on the project webpage by searching for Site Plan Review. \nThe Public Hearing is an opportunity to provide feedback that will inform a staff report and recommendation to the City Planning Commission. Following consideration by the City Planning Commission\, the ordinance would move to the Planning and Land Use Management (PLUM) Committee of the City Council before eventually heading to the full City Council for consideration and adoption. \nBeginning at 6:00 p.m.\, City Planning will present a brief overview of the proposed ordinance and the process to provide public comment. The Public Hearing will begin at 6:20 p.m. The official Notice of Public Hearing is available here. SUMMARY:Measure W Imperial Highway Project Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The City of Los Angeles Sanitation and Environment is working with the local stakeholders\, including the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA)\, City of El Segundo\, City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation\, local residents and community-based organizations to develop a project to beautify the Imperial Highway median from California Street to Vista del Mar\, expand recreational opportunities\, and capture\, reuse\, and recycle stormwater runoff from the adjacent neighborhoods. \nMeasure W Imperial Highway Project: The project application was submitted to LA County in late July 2022. It is now at LA County’s Safe Clean Water Program’s (SCWP) Scoring Committee for evaluation and calculation of the total number of points the project will receive. \nThis final verification of points for the project will take place during the next SCWP Scoring Committee meeting on Thursday\, November 3\, 2022. The project will then be sent to the Central Santa Monica Bay Watershed Area Steering Committee (or CSMB WASC) for final evaluation and\, ultimately\, the decision of whether the project will receive funding – this will take place early 2023. \nHow to Weigh In: \n1. Attend and voice your support for this project during the online Scoring Committee Meeting: \nComplete an online comment card for the meeting. To ensure that your comment is counted\, please include the following subject line: “Public Comment: Scoring Committee\, 11/3/2022”.\nEmail the completed comment card to safecleanwaterLA@pw.lacounty.gov by at least 5:00 p.m. the day prior to the meeting.\nLogin and attend the SCWP’s Scoring Committee meeting on November 3\, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. The meeting’s agenda may be found here.\nDuring one of the meeting’s “Public Comment” sections virtually raise your hand to voice your support for the project. \n2. Provide your written support for the project: \nSend your written support via email to san.safecleanwater@lacity.org by 5:00p.m. on Tuesday\, November 1\, 2022.
