SUMMARY:Measure W Imperial Highway Project Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The City of Los Angeles Sanitation and Environment is working with the local stakeholders\, including the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA)\, City of El Segundo\, City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation\, local residents and community-based organizations to develop a project to beautify the Imperial Highway median from California Street to Vista del Mar\, expand recreational opportunities\, and capture\, reuse\, and recycle stormwater runoff from the adjacent neighborhoods. \nMeasure W Imperial Highway Project: The project application was submitted to LA County in late July 2022. It is now at LA County’s Safe Clean Water Program’s (SCWP) Scoring Committee for evaluation and calculation of the total number of points the project will receive. \nThis final verification of points for the project will take place during the next SCWP Scoring Committee meeting on Thursday\, November 3\, 2022. The project will then be sent to the Central Santa Monica Bay Watershed Area Steering Committee (or CSMB WASC) for final evaluation and\, ultimately\, the decision of whether the project will receive funding – this will take place early 2023. \nHow to Weigh In: \n1. Attend and voice your support for this project during the online Scoring Committee Meeting: \nComplete an online comment card for the meeting. To ensure that your comment is counted\, please include the following subject line: “Public Comment: Scoring Committee\, 11/3/2022”.\nEmail the completed comment card to safecleanwaterLA@pw.lacounty.gov by at least 5:00 p.m. the day prior to the meeting.\nLogin and attend the SCWP’s Scoring Committee meeting on November 3\, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. The meeting’s agenda may be found here.\nDuring one of the meeting’s “Public Comment” sections virtually raise your hand to voice your support for the project. \n2. Provide your written support for the project: \nSend your written support via email to san.safecleanwater@lacity.org by 5:00p.m. on Tuesday\, November 1\, 2022.
