Airport Relations Committee Report - March 2012

It was recently announced in the LA Times that the Air Quality Study for LAX is expected to finish in 2012.

The FAA is planning on redesigning the entire southern California airspace.

The Trade, Commerce & Tourism committee met and initiated a study lead by the Chief Administrative Office to discuss the pros & cons of turning Ontario International Airport over to The City of Ontario. The study has a 90 day total duration with a 45 day status report.  Congresswoman Maxine Waters will be holding meetings to explore the issue/opportunity.

The Airport Relations Committee heard a North Runway & Transportation/Traffic project update given by Diego Alvarez, Regional Transportation Coordinator, LAWA.

The ARC is reviewing an NOP for an LAX Signage Ordinance. We hope to have Lisa Trifiletti, LAWA Project Manager join our April meeting for further discussion.
